FABRIC Experimenters Workshop

April 8-9, 2021

Join the 100+ people who have already registered for the FABRIC Experimenters Workshop! The goal of our third Community Workshop is to introduce FABRIC to experimenters – we will have a MVP Demo and Measurement Demo – and hear your feedback! We will also have a series of check-ins with different groups to make sure we understand your experimental needs.

This workshop is open to everyone – industry, academic, government, and international researchers. Register today!

Congratulations to Mauricio Tavares!

A note from Anita Nikolich, FABRIC Principal Investigator

Big congratulations to our own Mauricio Tavares who was recently announced as a 2021 NSF Trusted CI Fellow! There was a huge pool of candidates so this is quite an honor, but one that is well deserved given his passion for all things security and privacy.

Mauricio serves as a Senior Security Engineer for FABRIC, helps craft the policies and procedures, and advises IT staff to effectively protect our multinational research project.

FABRIC In The News

Researchers at Danaides and Clemson University to utilize FABRIC to further develop an app to help civilians in disaster zones

FABRIC Testbed will assist with verification for P2PR2P, an app that is designed to help victims of conflict organize their own first response. Initially conceived by the French non-governmental organization Danaides, an interdisciplinary group of Clemson faculty and students created the app to securely connect civilians in conflict- and natural-disaster zones with people who can provide food, medicine, transportation and other aid.

Danaides will do its verification work on the FABRIC Testbed, which enables a wide range of computer engineering and network research.

“We look forward to collaborating with Danaides, Dr. Brooks and his students to help them advance P2PR2P,” said K.C. Wang, co-principal investigator on FABRIC. “The FABRIC Testbed is the ideal research infrastructure to meet their needs.”
