We are leading an effort with FABRIC and PAWR to organize international meetings aimed at fostering collaboration between networking and cloud testbeds around the world. One way to think of this is that it will extend the GEFI and EMPOWER workshops both in time and scope. We are writing a proposal for the NSF AccelNet program (https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2019/nsf19501/nsf19501.htm).
Basically, we are asking for money to have international meetings for wireless, networking and cloud testbed owners and users to meet and initiate collaborations. We also plan on having tutorial workshops to teach users about the availability of testbeds around the world and will have a budget to send individuals to other countries for days or weeks at a time in order to implement collaborations. This mirrors the EMPOWER activities in the EU.
